What to tell you about Susan Chell and Patti Brown? Well, for those who believe actions speak louder than words, here goes: They listed our house on a Thursday, had 6 showings and an open house on Friday, had a full-ask offer by Friday night with 3 additional offers (all above ask) on Saturday morning, and had the property sold unconditionally by Saturday at well above the list price. You might say that the property sold itself but I can assure you otherwise. In fact, we had listed our home last year with another agent with very little activity despite a comparable asking price. This whole experience has taught us how important it is to have the right agent. And we are left with no doubt that the right agent, for the Civic Hospital area at least, is Susan Chell. Clearly, others in the neighbourhood agree as Susan Chell signs predominate by large margin around here. We have always remarked that “Sold” stickers appear on those signs very quickly. Now, the Sold sign is on our front lawn and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Susan and Patti have been a wealth of invaluable information and support that is clearly based in years of experience selling in this neighbourhood. We first met with Susan several months before listing with her. She offered several recommendations in terms of how to prepare the house for showing. Some of them were tough to swallow but, in the end, proved to be “right on”—there was none of the negative feedback that we received during our first listing. The virtual tour was amazing—showed our house to its very best advantage—in fact, had us questioning if we really wanted to leave! We were enormously impressed with the professionalism and ethical standards of Susan and Patti. We were in the market for a new home and asked Susan to show us a property in an outlying area. She referred us to one of her colleagues who was more knowledgeable about rural properties as she felt that that colleague could better serve our interests. Her willingness to sacrifice the potential commission in favour of our best interests impressed me enormously. Both Susan and Patti are as wonderful from an interpersonal perspective as they are from a business one. They are warm, empathic, and incredibly patient. This was huge for us. Selling our home of almost 20 years, a home that we had invested so much in personally and financially, was a momentous event in our lives. Patti and Susan listened to us intently and respected our values. They showed an incredible skill in balancing our personal needs and our business interests. This, too, is a testament to their wealth of experience in the field. However, interpersonal skills of this nature cannot be acquired by all, no matter how much experience they have, and speak to the underlying character of these individuals. This pair is also exceptional in terms of work ethic. They were available to us at all times by phone or email and always responded immediately when we reached out to them. We felt like we were their only clients, although nothing could be further from the truth. They never forgot to follow up on a detail, no matter how small—Susan showed up at my door one day with a coupon for our storage unit; shortly after selling the property, we received a copy of a moving checklist in the mail. We were left wondering when Susan and Patti sleep. In sum, we felt totally secure in the hands of Susan and Patti. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We know, by experience, how critical the right agents can be in optimizing the outcome of your home sale. We are quick to criticize when service falls short of our expectations. In this case, we have nothing but the most positive feedback to offer. Do yourself the favour of having Susan Chell and Patti Brown sell your home. If they are not the best candidates for the job, trust me, they will tell you.
