Hintonburg
In the last few years Hintonburg has soared in popularity and is known as Ottawa’s funky neighbourhood. Located close to downtown, with easy access to Little Italy, Chinatown and Wellington West, it is ideally located for people with modern and eclectic tastes.
Although infills have accelerated the gentrification of this neighbourhood over the last ten years, there are still many beautiful early 20th century homes that have been lovingly maintained or restored. Most businesses along Wellington Street are independent, and are passionately supported by residents.
You can purchase one of a kind homewares at Maker House, enjoy a taco at Tacolot, gourmet donuts at Suzie Q (not to be missed) and finish up with oysters at the Elmdale Tavern.
The area also has many little parks and four schools making it suitable for families. There are excellent transit links, grocery stores and an attentive community association committed to maintaining the arts and cultural aspect of the area.
